Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Foundations & HR/Talent: We provide strategic consulting to CSR, corporate foundation and HR/Talent teams, helping them maximize their business and community impact.

Board Governance: We help social good organizations optimize board performance through customized engagements designed to diagnose the root problem, develop an informed action plan & deliver solutions.

DESCRIPTION / RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a part-time independent contractor position with a 15 hour per week expectation. This position requires travel to the Cause Strategy Partners office, located in midtown Manhattan.

Cause Strategy Partners seeks a mission-driven professional with exceptional skills in communications and social media to join our fantastic team. The Associate will work closely with the Director of Strategic Growth to execute on communications, marketing strategy, and business development. This position is a great opportunity for a self-starter who is interested in gaining experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, social entrepreneurship, and corporate social responsibility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for the nonprofit sector and leadership development.

Our client-partners include Google, JPMorgan Chase, LinkedIn, Credit Suisse, Barclays, PwC, Macquarie Group, Mastercard, Adobe, BlackRock, Motorola Solutions, Adobe, Workday, Capital One, The Joyce Foundation, ADA 25 Advancing Leadership, and scores of social good organizations based in 17 cities nationwide.

The Associate will:

Support all efforts relating to communications and marketing, including:

  • Manage the communications calendar and ensure all planned content is being produced by content authors through our organization on deadline.
  • Facilitate distribution of owned Cause Strategy Partners content, including but not limited to: blog posts and thought leadership pieces, email blasts
  • Develop and launch at least two e-marketing blasts (or campaigns) per month
  • Support all other marketing and communications efforts in collaboration with the team, including printed materials and firm thought leadership
  • Attend CSP or BoardLead events for live-tweeting purposes, once or twice a month
  • Support technology needs, including CSP’s website, Google drive, Salesforce and data management

Provide assistance during the business development process:

  • Research leads in BoardLead markets
  • Draft proposals for corporate and foundation clients; proofread final proposals
  • Prepare high-quality pitch decks and edit collateral for potential clients
  • Ensure all contacts are added to Salesforce, generate reports
  • Support technology needs, including CSP’s Google drive, database back-up, technology needs, CRM, and data management; and (2) creating systems and manuals for the future maintenance of these technologies as opportunities arise.
  • Support Cause Strategy Partners’ special events and convenings

DESIRED SKILLS

The Associate selected to fill this position will work directly with the Director of Strategic Growth and the Principal and Founder of Cause Strategy Partners. They must be adept at a number of core competencies, including:

  • Verbal and written communication: A great deal of time will be invested in identifying and building strong relationships with external stakeholders, and telling our story via various communications and marketing channels.
  • Technological and design prowess: Associate must be skilled in building high-impact presentation decks and navigating Excel/Google Sheets, in particular.
  • Highly efficient & organized self-starter: as a rapidly growing organization, Cause Strategy Partners must produce high-quality work on a tight timeline.
  • Ambitious, flexible, and creative: No two days will be the same while we energetically scale a social enterprise together. Every member of our team has high levels of passion and buy-in, and your creative ideas and strategies are deeply valued.
  • Responsible: The Associate will take ownership over their responsibilities & will be relied upon to deliver excellence in every activity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A passion for community service and the importance of the nonprofit sector to society
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in communications, social media, marketing, and/or business development. Experience with Mailchimp, Word Press, and Salesforce are desired, but not required.
  • An understanding and belief in the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Readiness to begin in late March 2020 and commit to a time frame of at least 12 months

COMPENSATION

This position is a part-time contractor role, with an estimated 15 hour-per-week commitment. The hourly compensation rate for this contractor position is $16 to $20/hour, commensurate with experience.
