EDP UK sales is on a mission to cement our position as the number one partner for growth of our customers. We do this through:

Within this, the role of the commercial strategy team is to bring market leading plans which deliver value for our customers, consumers, Danone and the planet. We call this the “quadruple win”. Our plans empower our customer teams to create value and deliver excellence in execution.
In this role you will collaborate across teams to lead commercial strategy for all channels on our “essentials” brands. These brands are the growth engine of EDP UK. Commercial strategy levers include price, promotion, pack, product and place for both existing brands and innovation.
Light and Free was the number 1 category launch of 2016. This brand has grown from zero to £27m CANN in 3 years. Light and Free is step changing the yogurts category by recruiting the next generation of yogurt consumers.
Danone brand is our most exciting launch since Light and Free. We have brought our company name to UK consumers for the first time. Danone brand seeks to re-invent the yogurt category.
Key accountabilities:
• Build inspiring plans for the brands and create value for us, our retailers and consumers and our planet. Create value through the commercial levers on existing brands and develop for innovation.
• Deliver inspiring sell stories to empower the sales team to deliver their objectives. This will include annual growth plans, quarterly updates, innovation launches, promotion strategy and adhoc sell stories to create customer support for our brands
• Lead the commercial strategy for all innovation, from concept to execution. Ensure our NPDs are executed with excellence. Motivate account teams behind clear and stretching objectives; own the sales levers of the innovation PnL; and deliver best in class launch for our NPD
• Drive ambition and transparency across our business regarding performance, opportunities and risk for essentials brands.
• Work with the Marketing Team to ensure all campaigns are inspirational for the retailer and the shopper
• Provide strategic commercial thinking on new brands and innovation projects that sit outside our current portfolio including high protein.
Candidate profile:
• Proven track record of commercial acumen, creativity, strategic thinking and story telling
• Strong sales background in account management/category management. Ideally experience of leading a joint business plan
• Solid commercial understanding, ability to recognize the impact of initiatives and decisions made
• Proven ability to manage a P&L and solid understanding of impact of each measure
• Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate ideas, influence & challenge
• Ability to inspire and challenge internal stakeholders to deliver breakthrough results
• Must challenge the accepted wisdom to find breakthrough solutions
• Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work with other functions and departments.
• Strong Excel & Powerpoint skills
• Must be fluent in English – written and spoken
