Description

The Manager, Data Analytics responsibilities include leading a team of analysts to drive OverDrive’s use of data to make better business decisions. The person in this role owns business-wide metrics measurement, reporting, modeling and strategic analysis. They have the background, experience, and ability to complete deep analysis, but also understand that analytics are far more than reporting, and feel confident leading business reviews, driving forecasts and modeling, setting quotas, and using data to tell a story and influence business decisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the Data Analytics Team. Aligns team’s work with business priorities, prioritizes team workflow, conducts staff meetings, hires, coaches, and mentors team members, provides training and development to team members, provides regular performance feedback and drafts and conducts performance reviews.
  • Builds a strong culture of trust, learning and collaboration, while creating business value and success. Keeps teammates focused on key priorities, engaged and productive.
  • Drives the Quarterly Business Review process, and owns the process of leveraging data for forecasting, quota development, and budgeting.
  • Develops internal team processes that will maintain and improve efficiency and results.
  • Proactively learns of business needs and can translate them into actionable workstreams to their team.
  • Partners with business leadership to build a culture of data-informed decision making through setting frameworks for metrics, experimentation, and forecasting.
  • Identifies key revenue opportunities by leading deep analysis across our business and spotting areas for improvement.
  • Informs ways modeling can help create business and customer value.
  • Builds tools and dashboards to allow teams to access data and insight easily, consistently, and with a broad range of data sophistication.
  • Educates & trains business stakeholders on the methodology, appropriate tools and necessary knowledge to support their digital businesses.
  • Supports cross functional, strategic projects by tracking pre-defined KPIs and providing additional analytics when necessary.
  • As a member of the leadership team, demonstrates through decisions, actions and words a commitment to OverDrive’s mission, our sustainability and community outreach initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, r and Tableau.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong leadership / project management skills, with 3+ years of management experience.
  • Ability to multi-task with openness to new business ideas.
  • Ability to manage the day-to-day activities within the team and communicate our processes to other teams.
  • Leadership skills; ability to mentor / guide the work of others and effectively build / manage team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
