We are currently seeking enthusiastic, attentive and self-motivated individuals with a strong background in the Security field for temporary, full-time Security Officer positions.

About You

As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for performing tasks in support of UncommonGoods’ safety and security operations, such as maintaining a safe and secure environment for all team members by patrolling and monitoring surveillance equipment.

Details:

All positions are full-time, five days per week with opportunities for overtime. We have various start-times: mornings, afternoons and overnight shifts.

Responsibilities:

Secure the premise and protect personnel by controlling access, patrolling the multi-floor areas, monitoring surveillance equipment, and inspecting warehouse and office equipment and activity.
Prevent losses and damages by reporting irregularities and safety hazards; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers; documenting incidents.
Sign guests in and out, answer phones, maintain logs, issue equipment, restock PPE supplies, direct traffic, etc.

Qualifications:

Open availability is preferred, all days and shifts, including overnights. Shifts are not rotating.
Must have at least one year of experience in Security work (loss prevention, surveillance, foot patrols, fire safety, site protection, etc.) or any military service or first responder experience
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all managers, visitors, co-workers and employees
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must have a valid & current New York State Security Guard License
Must have a current 8-hr Annual NYS Security Training certificate
Fire guard or other FDNY certifications a plus
CPR certification a plus
Safety-related (ex. OSHA) certifications a plus
