Job Description
We are looking for an outgoing and organized Senior Account Manager to join our team. As a Senior Account Manager at Vermilion, you are the “go-to-person” on multiple accounts with a strong understanding of marketing communications, client service, and business acumen. The Senior Account Manager is responsible for initiating projects and guiding internal teams through the appropriate processes to effectively achieve all the day-to-day deliverables in support of your accounts’ scopes of work. This includes leading design and digital projects from beginning to end, establishing and managing budgets and timelines, managing client communication on these projects, and managing both internal and external schedules. The right candidate embodies an entrepreneurial spirit and has a strong sense of urgency and resourcefulness for their portfolio of accounts. Superb interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this role, as cross-functional and -departmental teamwork is integral for our business success.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years experience in an account management position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Advertising Management or a related field
  • Direct experience managing website design/development and digital marketing projects
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of project management software or systems
  • Workamajig, Basecamp, and Asana experience a huge plus
  • Demonstrable analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among clients and employees
  • Responsibilities

ACCOUNT STEWARDSHIP

  • Cultivate meaningful relationships based on trust by providing proactive, reliable, professional, and authentic senior account stewardship
  • Understand each client’s business goals, industry, target audience, marketplace, and competition
  • Partner with Account Director to develop plans in alignment with the client’s brand, business strategy, and organizational objectives
  • Earn client trust and respect by staying one step ahead of their needs
  • Look beyond current assignments to nurture partnership and identify upselling opportunities
  • Work closely with the Business Development team during the proposal development and pitch process, offering support during meetings as a thought leader in relation to your client experience
  • Represent the agency externally, via networking events, and conferences

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • Monitor and optimize project budgets with rigor and develop strategies to improve efficiency
  • Deliver high-quality work that is on-budget and on-time
  • Create and clearly communicate project plans, budget worksheets, and schedules
  • Work intuitively, independently, and collaboratively to effectively keep the internal team and Account Director informed of project specifics and details
  • Make sound decisions, resolve problems independently, and know when to elevate potential issues
  • Lead proactive, effective, timely, and error-free communications through a variety of channels
  • Confidently demonstrate client readiness as a professional, efficient, and engaging meeting leader
  • Meticulously manage billing and invoices

  • Be a self-motivated team player willing to jump in whenever and wherever needed
  • Help build and support a positive, proactive, and productive project team
  • Provide insightful, actionable, and clear direction on assignments for the internal project team
  • Give and receive direct feedback in a timely, clear, and genuine way
  • Craft accurate, compelling, and actionable briefs to successfully communicate and educate teams
  • Take responsibility for the team’s work and assignments
