Description

Raisely powers online fundraising for ambitious charities across the world. We’re a mission-driven remote team, spread across 5 countries and 7 cities.

We’re growing rapidly, but we’re not just any high-growth startup. Here you’ll have the flexibility of working from wherever you’re happy, supported by a passionate, talented team. You’ll use your skills to help charities of all sizes raise money to fund their important work, all while building a well-balanced company that puts values first.

If you’re excited about the challenge of a high-growth startup, and want your work to have a huge impact on the world, then we hope you’ll consider working with us.

A bit about us:

We’re Raisely! We help charities raise money online. Our platform helps charities build fundraising campaigns, run donation appeals, and nurture their supporters. We make it easy to get started and scale-up, without needing technical help.

We started Raisely because charities have been underserved by technology for too long. We set out to change that, and so far we’ve helped raise over $100m.

We’re a team of 13-turning-20 as we rapidly grow our company (and impact). With your help, we’re hoping to raise $1bn in the next few years and rapidly scale out, supporting charities small and large in countries across the world.

Oh and one more thing. We walk this impact talk. We’re a proud B-corp, and purpose is baked into our constitution. We’re carbon neutral, and we’re starting our anti-racism journey to ensure we’re actively undoing centuries of systemic racism.

A bit about the role:

We’re looking for a Digital Designer who is passionate about solving problems with great design. As part of our burgeoning Design team, you will be working closely with our Lead Designer to help develop high-quality interfaces, layouts, brand collateral, and overall deliver a broad range of creative output that keeps Raisely at the forefront of the fundraising sector.

We want you to help constantly improve the platform. As part of the Design team, you will be embedded in the broader Product team where your primary role will involve working with our engineers to design solutions that make our platform better. From researching and prototyping, through to designing new templates or launching a new feature, you'll be integral to ensuring that design thinking is implemented wherever possible.

We need someone who is willing to wear many hats. Although your primary role will be as part of the Product Team, you'll also be working closely with our Customer Success and Marketing teams to roll out brand collateral, social media assets, and conduct design reviews for our customers. We after someone who doesn't shy away from getting stuck in and having a go.

We think this role is perfect for a digital designer with some industry experience who believes in technology's potential to make this world a better place. Although this role is broad, we value potential over experience and will be with you every step of the way. So, if you're someone who enjoys variety with a big appetite for learning new things, we want to hear from you.

We know with diversity comes strength. We want Raisely to be a team of many cultures, nationalities, sexualities, gender identities, religious beliefs, abilities, and ideas. We particularly encourage Indigenous Australians, First Nations, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with disability, or people without the economic advantage of higher education, to apply for our roles.

Ideally, this is a full-time role based in Australia. However if you’re based elsewhere that’s in a compatible timezone (GMT+8 to GMT+13) and feel you’re a perfect fit, we’re still interested in hearing from you.

Role: Permanent, full-time (38hrs/week).

Experience: Ideally 2+ years but if you feel like you've got what it takes, please get in touch.

Location: Remote (we’ll help you set up your home office or get set up in a co-working space!).

If you worked here over the past few months, you might have:

  • Worked with our team to prototype a new feature or a solution to improve a current feature that people are struggling with.
  • Brainstormed a design-based solution to a common problem that our customer success team identified.
  • Taken an approved prototype and created high-fidelity designs ready to hand over to the engineering team.
  • Wrote a product pitch to make a new Raisely template that you think will take our customer's fundraising websites up a notch.
  • Jumped into the Raisely page builder and helped a major customer apply their brand guidelines and campaign style onto one of our fundraising templates.
  • Participated in our week-long virtual retreat, where you learnt how sneaky your teammates can be in Among Us!
  • Helped our customer success team with a design review of a website a customer has made, tweaking it to make sure it follows sound design principles and looks great across screen sizes.
  • Running around, desperately looking for a wooden spoon to help your teammates win the company-wide scavenger hunt.
  • Spent a few days working on our own website, making some stunning new landing pages for our Growth and Marketing teams.
  • Creating some social assets for our Marketing team to help them tell the world about our amazing platform!

Now about you...

You understand good digital design.
You understand the importance of solving problems with design thinking. You have experience designing user flows, understand user experience, and can clearly layout information. You understand how to use colour and space, you know how to design responsively, and you understand the importance of web accessibility.

You're passionate about making a difference.
Yeah, we’re all here because we want to make the world better (and by that we mean a carbon neutral utopia with world peace and just laws, where all people are treated the same with equal opportunity to thrive). So you’ve gotta want that too!

You can prototype your designs in code.
You have a good understanding of how web technologies work and are able to make decisions based on what is possible. Online products make sense to you, you have experience with website builders, and are comfortable working with HTML and CSS. Experience with JavaScript (especially React.js) would be an absolute bonus.

You know your tools.
You’re experienced in width Adobe Creative Suite, and design tools like Sketch or Figma. You understand the importance of design systems, iterating in response to feedback, and can design pixel-perfect interfaces for any-and-all screen sizes.

You’re a good written communicator.
You easily dismantle complex concepts and you can get to the core of a problem. You’re fluent in written and spoken English.

You’re independent.
You know when you need to ask for help, and you’re able to manage your own time. You’re happy to work independently, but will call on your team when you need.

Ok, and why work with us?

You spend nearly 2000 hours of your life at work, each year. That’s a huge commitment, so we can promise that every hour you’re spending with Raisely, you’re making the world a better place. Pretty great perk, hey?

Working at Raisely is unique. If you have a great idea, we’ll help you make it happen. You’ll play a pivotal role with an awesome team at a crucial point in the history of our fast-growing company.

If you needed more convincing, here’s the rest of it:

🤷 Training – We’ll support you with time when you want to learn new skills or pay for conference or course tickets.
