The Job
The People and Purpose Manager is a newly created position and will support the whole team with the people strategy as well as the day-to-day activities. It will be a positive and contributing member of the management team, being the lead for people management across the whole employee lifecycle.

This position will encompass the typical HR Management function but we are keen to view our team as people and not resources and rethink the way in which teams are supported and managed within the company. Our culture shall be intertwined in every aspect of how we work and develop.

We’re looking for someone who is creative, solution-focussed with the confidence to engage and the knowledge and skills to deliver the People focussed needs of the business.

Key responsibilities
• In consultation with the senior team, develop people planning strategies to manage resource needs in the immediate and longer term
• Ensure the provision of a full and effective recruitment and selection process incorporating our company culture and core values
• Analyse training needs in consultation with managers and prepare, agree and deliver a costed learning and development plan
• Facilitate learning and development including an induction programme for new employees
• Advise on pay, benefits and other remuneration and undertake regular benchmarking activities
• Keep up to date with relevant legislation, updating our policies, procedures, practices, documents (including staff handbook and contracts) and working conditions where appropriate
• Provide support, guidance and advice to managers on all aspects of people management including policies, procedures, performance management, capability, absence, disciplinary and grievance
• Act as a mentor to the leadership team on people management

Ensure that the company culture and core values are integrated in all relevant processes so that they are lived in all aspects of Invivo life

• In conjunction with managers, support and manage employee relations
• Regular review and updating of an appropriate performance management system
• Drive forward wellbeing initiatives
• Keep appropriate employee records
• In conjunction with the senior team, create and implement a communications plan that raises awareness and engages employees

We are looking for someone who;
• Is CIPD qualified, ideally to Chartered Member level
• Possesses up-to-date knowledge of employment law
• Has successfully managed a People Management function
• Has managed a caseload including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability
• Has created learning and development plans
• Has supported, advised and coached managers
• Has successfully worked with a wide range of stakeholders
• Is a strong communicator with well-developed skills in preparing written information and presenting information verbally for a variety of audiences
• Is an effective problem solver and decision maker
• Is highly motivated and flexible
• Ability to coach and motivate others

Hours: 30 to 39 hours per week
Holiday: 25 days per annum plus Bank & Public Holidays (pro rata)
