ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Ensures our people, processes, systems, and physical infrastructure are built to scale, delivering seasonal peaks and long-term growth.
  • Leads, inspires, motivates and develops the operations management team by effectively establishing priorities, goals, and resourcing plans that support our unified culture and aligned business priorities.
  • Makes business decisions with an understanding of costs, profits, risk, impact on people and the planet, and return on investment.

AS A LEADER, YOU:

  • Have demonstrated management and strategic decision-making abilities and expertise in warehouse operations, customer service, and transportation.
  • Can effectively plan, budget, staff, and manage our in-house and 3PL warehouse operations, seasonal workforce, customer service, facilities, security, and drop ship teams resulting in an outstanding customer experience that positively distinguishes us as “best in class”.
  • Have a track record of quality standards, efficiency, and delivering outstanding financial results.
  • Can oversee significant projects such as the launch of new technology systems, warehouse redesign, and the evaluation of new distribution partners and company-operated warehouses.
  • Are a strong mentor with the ability to guide the team’s professional development-someone who celebrates success and is a motivator, as well as highly persuasive with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analyze budgets, financial statements and manage costs to provide accurate data and identify critical business issues.
  • Are a systematic and an innovative thinker that encourages creativity and takes a critical thinking analysis approach to problem solving.
  • Maintain an in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of industry developments, technology, and competitors.

SKILLS/BACKGROUND:

  • Prior experience in a COO, Head of Operations, or Customer Service (or similar) role.
  • 7+ years of progressive managerial and leadership responsibilities.
  • Ability to define operational excellence and put in place the people, process, goals, and metrics that will deliver a stellar customer and team member experience on budget.
  • Proven experience with challenging contract negotiations.
  • Comfort with managing complexity in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong relationships with colleagues, vendors, service providers, and distributors leading to outstanding performance.
  • Experience working in a lean, collaborative team environment with strong talent.
  • Open, direct communication style.
  • A track record of building and enhancing large scale systems and processes, setting up a distribution center from scratch, and partnering with different software vendors and 3PLs.
  • Experience hiring and managing a large seasonal workforce is a significant plus.
