ABOUT THE ROLE

This is an exciting new role, and much like our products, you’re unlikely to find something like it anywhere else.We’re looking to take our established social advertising program across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, etc.) and mix it up with fresh, experimental, and innovative ideas. Design skills are a must -- as is your love for all things social media. With a deep understanding of how people interact and behave on various platforms, you’ll work closely with our marketing team to come up with creative concepts that we can quickly develop and put into the world.

This is a position for someone who is unafraid to push creative boundaries and is willing to be scrappy as we experiment with new ideas. You’re someone who can not only come up with a concept, but quickly bring it to life -- whether that means designing an ad, shooting a video on your phone, or jumping in front of the camera yourself to make a Tik Tok.

We’re looking for someone who is as excited about this opportunity as we are. (And we are very excited.) Again, we do need you to have basic design skills, but creativity and a scrappy, get-it-done mindset are what we’re really after here.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Concept innovative, experimental ideas for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms
  • Act as an in-house creator and quickly bring ideas to life by designing, shooting, editing (and sometimes starring in) social ads
  • Design digital assets (online ads, social media posts) that adhere to the brand standards and style guidelines - while still pushing creative limits
  • Create original storytelling content on social media platforms to convey branding messages and drive product sales. Must be comfortable appearing in videos
  • Serve as an internal creative consultant and champion bold, innovative ideas in the digital space.

Qualifications

  • Experience building an audience (either for yourself or another brand) with your creative use of social media
  • Basic graphic design skills
  • Experience with animation
  • Deep understanding of user behavior on various social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
  • Highly engaged in the social space and aware of the latest trends
  • Understanding of visual elements (layout, type and fonts) in relation to various social platforms
  • Strong portfolio of design work, showing solution to business problems through effective design.
  • Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • This job is based in Brooklyn, but the team will be working remotely until at least September 1, at which point the company will re-evaluate.

In our office and warehouse, COVID-19 testing is required of all new hires and monthly for all team members; PPE, including masks and gloves, is required for all team members; and workspaces provide recommended social distancing.
