Marketing / Communications Lead (Native Dutch speaker)

Reporting to: Executive director Benelux

Exciting new role in a fast-growing organisation working with responsible businesses. The B Corp movement encourages businesses to manage their impacts on society and the environment with as much rigour as they manage their profits.


The B Corp Movement
Certified B Corps seek to redefine success in business by putting profit on a par with social and environmental impact. B Corps manage the impact of their entire business through the B Impact Assessment and reach high standards of social and environmental performance. B Corps also amend their governing documents to consider the impact of their decisions on people and planet. The B Corp community is a global group of businesses who provide leadership by their commitments to people and planet and create examples of success for others to follow. There are now 4000 B Corps in over 70 countries and covering 150 sectors, including Patagonia, The Body Shop, Tony’s Chocolonely, Triodos Bank, WeTransfer, Alpro, Yoni and Dopper.


Stichting B Lab Europe
Since the B Corp movement was established in Europe in 2015, it has gained remarkable traction with 600 certified B Corps, of which 130 in the Benelux. Stichting B Lab Europe is a non for profit with an active Board, and coordinates the 9 Country Partners across Europe. The Amsterdam based team is a hub for the European and global movement, housing the team, as well as some of the global standards analysts and team Benelux.


Team Benelux
We now seek to expand our Benelux team to help deliver on the ever growing interest in the B Corp movement that we are seeing in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. The Benelux team is small, friendly, hard-working and committed to changing how business operates. The team works closely with the Global - and European B Lab team and the 9 active Country Partners (Spain, France, Italy,Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Portugal and Poland). Team Benelux is responsible for growing a thriving BNL B Corp community, working with key stakeholders in the ecosystem, delivering the strategy, fostering new partnerships and initiating activities that create value to B Corps and the movement across Benelux.


With the growth of the B Corp community in the Benelux region there is momentum to amplify our message externally and coordinate our marketing / media presence across the network (eg. initiatives like the B Corp shop on AH and Bol.com / Decade of Action documentary / Belgian partnership). The candidate will play an important role in growing and leveraging our message and building awareness of the B Corp brand across the Benelux region. This means that he/she will work closely with the Community manager, who leads all efforts with the BNL B Corp community, and to some extend also with the Growth & certification team.


Marketing, communications and events
• Develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications strategy for Benelux (in alignment with B Lab EU / B Lab global) and all its activities, including campaigns, key events and new product launches
• Build tools, processes and resources for internal / external communications
• Responsible for Benelux communications and marketing output, including gobal campaigns and local implementation / roll out, external and stakeholder communications, social media calendar and activation, newsletters, website(s), brand and project-led communications.
Daily tasks include:
- Communicate important announcements to B Corps both online / in calls / in-person and decide which comms. channel to use when
- Work closely with the community manager in developing new and updating exisiting materials (decks / website / toolkits / playbook etc)
- Create content, the copy and visuals for newsletter through Pardot (including
analytics)
- Launch / activate / roll out global / regional campaigns
- Communications and activation for key partnerships with strategic stakeholders and commercial partners
- Support press and PR needs for key accounts, especially at point of certification
- Manage comms where necessary as a result of unforeseen events (e.g. COVID-19)
- Support Certification team in their marketing efforts and align comms efforts with the Belgian B Corp point of contact
• Create the social media plan and calendar for B Lab NL’s social media platforms
(Instagram / Linkedin) and put in place a consistent process for creating and delivering content:
- Coordinate the social media takeover by the community
- Putting our social media channels to use to expand and connect with our
network and share our knowledge, inspiration and events
- B Hive activation in close collaboration with the Community manager (B Hive is
the online engagement platform for B Corps globally)
• Together with Community Manager responsible for design, coordination and
implementation of events / webinars / workshops o calendar, content, ideation, story telling, communications, managing invitations and eventbrite and planning

Desired Skills and Traits:
Native Dutch speaker, excels in spoken and written English
● Minimum of 3-5 years relevant working experience (eg. Marketing / communication /digital )
● Extraordinary writing and communications skills
● A strong eye for design and experience with design tools, such as Adobe Creative (or similar suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, or Canva)
● Familiarity with these (or comparable) platforms: Salesforce, Pardot, Hootsuite, Google
● Suite - including Google Analytics, Slack, Asana, Zoom.
● Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus but not essential.
● Strong organizational skills, well-structured and with a problem solver mentality
● Project management skills: ability to see projects through to completion (clear project management plan / timeline etc) with an eye for detail and focus on clear deliverables
● People Person: customer-oriented who can recognize and resolve issues as they arise
● Experience in managing multiple relationships within an organisation, managing different work-strands simultaneously
● Hands on team player who does not shy away for a highly dynamic and ever changing working environment, yet happy to work independently and a self-starter
● Passionate about making a positive social impact and using business as a force for good.


Compensation and benefits
• Reports to: Executive director
• Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
• Flexible working arrangements: to be adapted as needed due to COVID 19
• Salary: commensurate with experience and in line with non-profit sector
• Contract: 1-year fixed term contract with the intention to convert into a permanent position

Interview Process
