Pricing and Costing Senior Analyst job in London

Who are we looking for?

• Analytical, numerate - there are lots of elements in a electricity and gas bill which need to be understood
• Able to articulate both sides of an argument and why your recommendation is the right one.
• Comfortable using MS Excel, SQL would also be a benefit
• Proven ability in Python
• Retail energy market experience in a pricing/costing area, though not necessarily domestic.
• Appreciation for macro-economic trends and their relative impact on energy pricing
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment, likes a challenge
• Can understand the wider business strategy and able to reflect this in pricing decisions

What's does the role involve?

• Working alongside the Head of Sales, you’ll be responsible for launching Rebel tariffs into the retail market (electricity and gas)
• This requires the balancing of competing needs of gross margin (higher prices) and customer growth (easier with lower prices)
• Forecasting all the costs which feed into the gross cost stack. These have a range of uncertainty and complexity. Communicating the effect of the changes so the wider team understands.
• Working alongside the Commodity Risk Analyst to ensure margin is delivered from point of sale to consumption.
• As the customer portfolio grows, providing actionable data-driven insight into their behaviour through the lens of margin.
• Working alongside the finance function to ensure future margin and cash positions are understood and articulated to senior leadership.
• Working with the Commercial function ensuring the profitability of new products and propositions is well understood.
• Monitoring regulatory change which affects the cost stack
• Monitoring the competition to spot trends/opportunities
• Accountable for the management of all Fixed and Variable Rebel Tariffs in line with business objectives.
• Accountable for the forecasting of all gross costs (wholesale, policy, networks, metering) across both electricity and gas.
