Position: Chief Financial Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Description: The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the corporation’s financial activities, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and create forecasts predicting future growth. The CFO functions as a key advisor. They will help to manage the business and execute the company's strategic plans. This role calls for a hands-on leader who can oversee all elements of finance while supporting the owners with critical business decisions​​. This leader will be transformative, resourceful, and reliable, but first and foremost, they will genuinely care about people and coffee.

Job Duties:

Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
Manage & execute the annual planning process and suggest improvements to current methods. Works with the President and other executives to coordinate planning and establish priorities for the planning process.
Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization.
Monitor financing needs, debt levels & compliance with Debt covenants. Work with the President to negotiate financing arrangements as required.
Work with leadership teams to develop and maintain a system of key financial performance metrics.
Studies long-range economic trends and projects their impact on future growth in sales and market share.
Identifies opportunities for expansion into new product areas.
Oversees investment of funds and works with investment bankers to raise additional capital required for expansion.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
Eight to ten years of experience in financial management is required.
NetSuite experience preferred.
Experience working in a certified B Corp preferred.
Experience working with the Great Game of Business approach to open-book management preferred.
Excellent management and supervisory skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ethical compass to ensure the continuity of the group’s culture of compliance and integrity, including upholding B Corp commitments.
Leadership skills necessary to guide and steer the discussion to achieve objectives and promote best practices.

Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities must convey detailed or critical verbal instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.

The physical requirements of this position.

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
