Schedule: Full-time, late nights/early mornings; schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends and holidays is required.

Job Description

The Bread Expeditor Coordinator is the link between Bread Production and Delivery. The Bread Expeditor Coordinator safely, accurately and efficiently pulls and expedites all phases of wholesale bread orders. They also help the Delivery Manager coordinate staffing, scheduling, and coaching on the floor.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a team player. They will have high performance standards, strong customer orientation, change agility, and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensures staffing needs are met. Calls in staff as necessary.
  • Timely, accurate and efficient completion of pulling orders, slicing, and packaging of all products
  • Able to operate all Expediting equipment efficiently while maintaining quality standards
  • Make decisions about quality control concerns; including directing shortages, substitutions, and change invoices as needed.
  • Keep delivery and expediting areas clean and orderly
  • Maintain clear communication and good rapport with crew members, delivery drivers, bread production and supervisors.
  • When necessary, creates schedule for Expediting Team and makes last minute adjustments as needed.
  • Delivers excellent customer service – friendly, helpful and courteous at all times
  • Trains and coaches team members on the floor; escalates personnel matters to manager, including concerns about attendance, performance, and conduct.
  • Able to be the Person in Charge in a manager's absence.

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to speak and understand English required
  • Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
  • HS diploma/GED preferred
  • Basic math skills required
  • Ability to function calmly and efficiently in high-pressure, multi-task, deadline-driven environment

Physical Requirements

This position stands for 100% of the shift worked and walks up to the equivalent of two miles per shift. Expeditor Coordinators may be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs in the course of their normal duties and walk up to 2 miles per shift. Typical procedures requiring a high-level of repetitive motion involving hands, wrists, arms and back – including lifting and twisting.

Expeditor Coordinators work in warm environments. The production facility is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
