Build and Release Manager job in Ventura
Job Title: Build and Release Manager
Reports To: Sr. Director of Global eCommerce
Location: Ventura, CA
The Build and Release Manager will be responsible for all code and data deployments, version control management, QA and disaster recovery planning associated with Patagonia’s websites. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and detail oriented with experience working in a complex software build environment.
Essential Job Functions:
o Monitor, build and deploy software and data releases
o Lead and mentor in the continuous improvement and documentation of all build and release processes/procedures.
o Develop, analyze, and maintain tools that support and automate processes for software and data releases
o Understand and provide mentorship to others on topics ranging from product components, component dependencies, product dependencies, automated tests and release processes.
o Document and manage the disaster recovery plan for a sub-section of critical systems associated with Patagonia websites.
o Manage, monitor, and maintain CDN and associated security tools
o Manage DNS records and SSL Certificates
o Manage after-hours on-call process and incident management
Other Job Functions:
o Perform routine development maintenance on the applications
o Manage the coordination and deployment of web store data
o Manage QA of website features and functionality
Minimum Job Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent experience.
o 4+ years of professional experience in release / build engineering
o Extensive knowledge of Unix / Linux operating systems
o Extensive experience developing and maintaining Ant and other build/test scripts
o Extensive experience with one or more source code repositories such as CVS, Subversion, etc.
o Experience with distributed version control repositories such as Mercuiral, Git, BitKeeper, etc
o Experience with one or more scripting languages – Perl, Python, PHP, Ruby, etc.,
o Experience with Disaster Recovery planning including offsite backups and restores
o Experience working in an agile software development environment and a familiarity with SCRUM practices and Lean principles
o Experience in managing and mentoring others with respect to change control, organizational development and the triaging of functional problems of ranging severity.
o Strong analytical skills required
o Individual must be a self-starter and be able to develop testing and release plans and procedures without a lot of prior direction.
o Individual must be able to work well under pressure and deadlines.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
o 2+ years of experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware)
o 2+ years of professional experience with PCI compliance and online payment processing
o 1+ year experience with AWS support and configuration
