Description
ROLE
Every South Mountain design-build project rests on a foundation of integrated architecture, engineering, and construction. The design process is where these elements are first woven together. You’ll join a small, tightly-knit team of problem solvers who collaborate to advance the architectural expression of high-performance, low-carbon building. The bulk of your time will be spent assisting the Director of Architecture and Project Architects with the design/build process from predesign through closeout.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand the impact of design choices on aesthetics, safety, durability, buildability, function, environment, schedule, and budget
Build and foster trust with clients through listening and open, honest communication
Collaborate with production staff, trade partners, and suppliers
Assist Department Director and Project Architects in the production of hand sketches, computer-drafted drawing sets, 3D computer models, renderings, specs, and narratives to effectively communicate vision, materials, and methods
Support department with BIM workflow improvements
Support Department Director with sales administration
Act as a reliable, capable, and supportive member of the team
REQUIREMENTS
YOU BRING
- Positive energy
- Punctuality
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Architecture plus one to three years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with BIM—ArchiCad (preferred) or Revit
- Fluency with Mac operating system, Microsoft Office, and Adobe products
- US citizenship or a US work permit (also called an employment authorization document or EAD)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
