We are looking for a Sr. Data Modeler consultant who aligns business goals, objectives and requirements with decisions regarding data management and analytics solutions, products and services to join our growing Data Services Practice. Act as a data lead; leverage versatile technical capabilities to drive the development, evolution, and implementation of data warehouses, vaults, marts and cubes. Work with clients to understand data sources, definitions and functions; design data models for warehousing, information delivery, analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with clients to evaluate current and desired state data warehousing and business analytics capabilities in various industries. Assist with strategies, road maps, processes and products to drive the realization of business value from data lifecycle processes and technology investment.
  • Lead client engagements, gather requirements, document business needs and devise conceptual, logical and physical data models for data warehouses, vaults, cubes, marts, lakes etc. Leverage the Data Vault 2.0 methodology for data warehouse design and implementation.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in various data management, warehouse, business intelligence and Big Data solutions across multiple industries.
  • Assist in the development of project estimates, plans and timetables.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of data management consulting experience. Possess a client-focused attitude through conversation and documentation.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building and scaling transactional and analytical database and business intelligence solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing various solutions within enterprise class database management systems (i.e. Oracle, DB2, Teradata, Microsoft).
  • 2+ years of experience implementing Data Vaults using the Data Vault 2.0 methodology.
  • Proven knowledge and experience with various data warehousing models such as third normal form, Data Vault 1.02.0, dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema etc.
  • Proven knowledge and experience understanding and modeling large enterprise data sources such as enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), financial management, pricing, general ledgers, human resource management (HRM) etc.
  • Experience with analytics tools and languages such as Tableau, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, Cognos, SAS, SQL, R and Python.
  • Experience with master data management, data governance, data security and data quality frameworks, processes and tools.
  • Exposure to designing and architecting Cloud solutions for data and analytical workloads such as warehouses, Big Data, data lakes, real-time streaming and advanced analytics preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience working with secured and sensitive data and systems such as PII, HIPAA and CJIS.
  • A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business needs and varying degrees of appreciation for data strategy, processes and capabilities and enabling data technologies.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, process improvement and documentation skills. Familiar with structured analysis techniques including context diagrams, data flow diagrams, process modeling, functional decomposition models as well as conceptual, logical and physical data modeling.
  • Desire and commitment to continuous learning in data management, architecture, analytics, business intelligence and Cloud.
  • Strong communication skills suitable for customer communications by phone, email, and in-person.
  • Certifications a plus: Certified Data Vault Professional 2.0; Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP); Certified Data Management Professional (CDPM); Certified Enterprise Data Management Expert; Certified Data Steward; Information Governance Professional; and other certifications provided through various cloud and data-related products such as Oracle, Teradata, AWS, Azure etc.
