THE ROLE


Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Director of Category and Shopper Insights, this individual will be responsible for the data enablement of the organization. He/she is responsible for all standard reporting, data tools and process as well as providing category management and shopper insights support to both internal and external people against dirty.



AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


the category and shopper insights analyst will:



  • Facilitate the ongoing data enablement of the organization. Direct monthly reporting process; generate and improve reporting suite, drive the creation of new tools to help method and their partners better understand the business

  • Manage syndicated databases (Nielsen / Spins). Maintain custom aggregate library and new product set up

  • Support the director in the creation of selling materials and the management of sales tactical guidance by updating/creating tactical sales materials for bi-annual sales release + facilitate the distribution process.

  • Manage the development of proprietary research.

  • Scope projects based on organizational needs

  • Collaborate with Sales Planning and Field sales team in customer category management / shopper insights efforts, including: Sales presentations; creation and delivery to customer when necessary

  • Empower internal method functional teams with data, tools and insights relative to their responsibilities. Ad hoc analyses + project team support

  • Actively participate in and contribute to the method culture and experience

  • Work reception once a month*

EXPERIENCE:


5+ years experience in category management / analytics at a major syndicated data provider or established consumer packaged goods company


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Towering technical skills; Excel proficiency a must

  • Ability to communicate with data and information in a clear and concise fashion

  • Proficient with syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen)

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to juggle and manage timelines and deadlines

  • Ability to stay cool and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of Spins and Whole Foods Portal a plus

  • Functional knowledge of shopper insights concepts and metrics


EDUCATION:


Bachelors Degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
