The Breakdown:
The Import / Export Trade Clerk’s primary role will be to provide general administrative support within the trade department of Burton Snowboards. Support will require communicating and collaborating with other Burton departments, as well as Burton’s vendors and brokers. The qualified candidate will be reliable, have an analytical mind and exceptional attention to detail, possess a high level of professionalism, and interact effectively with all levels of the company.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Provide day-to-day support for import and export activities
Prepare, and carefully review, all import and export documentation for accuracy, and correct data where necessary
Performs pre-import review process, and ensures complete document set for import
Communicate documentation requirements to overseas vendors and agents, as needed
Provide auditing assistance to Trade Compliance Specialist
Run daily in-transit reports for prioritization of clearance documentation to prevent shipment delays
Create advanced shipping notices (ASN) within SAP ERP
Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
Assist in transportation entry [CBP Form 7512] completion for in-bond shipments
Resolve import issues with Customs broker(s)
Maintain a positive relationship with both internal and external partners
Participate in projects that enhance compliance and support growth of business
Ensure compliance with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) rules and regulations, and industry and company standards
Store completed documents in designated locations
Comply with data integrity and security policies
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
Position requires high school diploma and 1 to 3 years of high-volume data entry experience.
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with computer programs especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point)
Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, often changing, environment
Ability to collect and manage information
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate across all functions
Confidentiality
SAP ERP software experience, a plus
Previous experience with import and/or export logistics, preferred
