The Head of Inclusion & Diversity will report to the co-CEO and will lead and champion Techstars’ diversity, inclusion, and belonging strategy. We are looking for a visionary leader who is able to build relationships across the organization and able to drive initiatives to improve our internal practices. It is our hope that the practices we are able to implement as an organization will ultimately have a positive ripple effect on our larger community and with our strategic partners.  We are looking for someone who has demonstrated a passion for building and supporting diverse communities, experience driving large-scale change within a global business, and who isn’t shy about being innovative and driving new ideas or initiatives.



What You Will Do:

In partnership with the CEO, COO, and VP Of People Operations, the Head of Inclusion & Diversity will:



  • Gain a thorough, holistic, and honest understanding of how Techstars is currently doing from an inclusion and diversity perspective

  • Develop and champion an innovative I&D strategy that informs the business strategy

  • Create metrics for measuring the effectiveness of diversity initiatives implemented and provide regular reports to leadership and the Board of Directors

  • Lead trainings to educate employees and leadership on how to recognize, accommodate, and appreciate individual differences and how these can be leveraged to drive the success of the team, business unit, and organization

  • Partner with the People Ops team to implement initiatives to ensure that we are attracting and retaining a highly talented and diverse workforce

  • Build and maintain relationships with external organizations and communities to strengthen the partnership between Techstars and diverse entrepreneurial communities around the world

  • Counsel the People Ops and Legal teams to ensure that all inclusion and diversity related legislation is understood and followed in all of our global locations  

  • Work closely with internal teams in outreach, recruitment, selection, and content to ensure that Techstars is attracting and supporting diverse entrepreneurs across accelerator and community programs  

  • Establish and support I&D Advisory Boards

  • Serve as an evangelist to audiences around the world to speak candidly about our successes and learnings in improving inclusion and diversity within the Techstars network



About You:



  • A strong passion for and experience championing I&D initiatives in the workplace, preferably at a high-growth technology company

  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing large-scale change

  • Outstanding communication skills, written and oral, including the ability to talk effectively to a wide range of audiences and stakeholders including C-suite executives and board members

  • Strong business acumen and ability to seamlessly integrate D&I initiatives to drive business success

  • Deep understanding of existing I&D best practices and shortcomings and considered an innovative leader within the field

  • An analytical mind with the ability to translate data insights into tactical plans in order to influence and drive action at all levels of the organization

  • Incredibly self-driven problem solver who enjoys working through big challenges by seeking novel solutions
