ACHS is recruiting for part-time English Composition, Aromatherapy, and Complementary and Alternative Health faculty positions. Faculty with specialties in other areas are encouraged to check back frequently for new position postings.  

About ACHS Faculty Positions

Interested applicants must enjoy and embrace teaching online and have a true passion for helping students succeed. At ACHS, this means being responsive to students while at the same time creating a challenging yet supportive online classroom environment. Curriculum for most classes has already been developed, thereby allowing you to focus on delivering curriculum and providing regular and substantive interaction with students.

Successful candidates have:

  • A minimum of two years’ teaching experience

  • Experience in an online learning platform such as Canvas, D2L, Moodle, or Blackboard

  • Subject knowledge expertise and professional experience in their field 

  • A passion and enthusiasm for helping students succeed

  • Availability to respond to ACHS staff and students within 24 – 48 hours

  • Excellent online communication skills

  • Technical savvy in using software and third-party applications such as Slack, Skype, Big Blue Button, etc.

Specific position requirements include:

English Composition- Requires a Masters degree in English or a related field;

Graduate and undergraduate herb, nutrition, complementary and alternative health and wellness courses  - Requires a doctoral degree (e.g., ND, DC, DO, MD, PhD, etc.)

Graduate and undergraduate aromatherapy courses - Applicants must have completed a NAHA- and/or AIA-approved aromatherapy program and be a Registered or Certified Aromatherapist. Minimum of a bachelor’s degree required.

Technical requirements include:

  • A current PC or Mac (minimum specs: 64MB RAM, 1.2 GB free space on hard drive, Windows XP or Mac OSX, MS Office, Internet Explorer 5.X, e-mail with file attachment capabilities),

  • High-speed Internet service (DSL, cable modem, or ISDN), webcam, and microphone
