THE ROLE


Based in San Francisco and reporting to the Manage of Supply Chain Solutions, this individual will be responsible for the management of master data throughout the method environment. This role is responsible for building a process of data flow, including handoff and approvals, that delivers final data integrity within each individual system.  The Master Data Manager will provide leadership through active collaboration and through deep involvement in all processes that involve system data and controls management.  The Master Data Manager will need to be able to navigate and function within a variety of data systems including, but not limited to, SAP, Synapse, Syspro and Arena.



AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY



  • Data owner, entry & management of: Item Master Data, Customer Master, Customer Pricing in methods ERP systems (Syspro & SAP), UPC & ITF/GTIN barcode assignment, and Datasync publishing requests (Aligntrac, ECCnet)

  • Manage data integrity and data transfer across multiple systems including SAP, Arena, Syspro, Synapse Sterling TMS and John Galt to ensure consistency and accuracy. Partner with IT on data back up and synchronization strategy

  • Enhance processes and procedures for data approval, data hand-off and overall data management, including test protocols for data accuracy and integrity. Develop data formatting rules that will transcend systems and provide one version of the truth

  • Partner with current system ‘owners’ on data organization that allows for the seamless flow of data from one system team to another. Identify areas for automation to reduce human error input and transfer

  • Develop and communicate standard data integrity metrics

  • Collaborate with IT Department to enhance system capabilities where ever possible and identified, for improved usefulness and actionable data. Collaborate with IT on Master Data help ticket system

  • Work reception once a month*

EXPERIENCE:



  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years experience in data management role

  • Experience working with multiple systems including TMS, WMS, PLM and ERP

  • Experience with SAP

  • Intermediate to advanced PC skills: MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint

  • Experience with MSAccess (basic)




REQUIREMENTS:



  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership, problem solving and change management

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to stay cool and calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to stay focused on the “big picture”


EDUCATION:



  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field
