THE ROLE


The Facilities Associate plays a critical support role in establishing a supportive and fun culture and environment at the Southside Soapbox manufacturing facility. The Facilities Associate will focus on the brilliant basics of facilities and office management, including vendor management, maintenance coordination oversight, and visitor + employee experience support. This role provides excellent customer service to the People Against Dirty Manufacturing team, taking the initiative to ensure the smooth functioning of everything that makes the Soapbox hum outside of the plant floor.


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


The Facilities Associate will:



  • Oversee and coordinate facility repairs and improvements, estimating costs and requirements, communicating internally regarding needs, securing appropriate support, and ensuring implementation

  • Manage office + facilities vendors including security, cleaning, landscape, uniform, and additional services to ensure a safe, engaging + shiny environment for our team + visitors

  • Stay one step ahead of all office, kitchen and equipment supply + maintenance needs, including managing regular clean-up + improvement projects

  • Maintain office administration tools such as phone system, office mailing resources, building access system and employee lockers

  • Contribute to our culture through coordination of House of Representatives calendar, snack perks, team lunches, and assisting with additional Soapbox fun as requested

  • Serve as proud ambassador of the Soapbox as front desk co-host, managing tour requests + needs, and liaising with our internal team on customer meetings or special visits

  • Inspire advocates with oversight of our soap = dope employee giveaway program + community requests for product donations


QUALIFICATIONS:


EXPERIENCE:



  • Some office/facilities management experience or experience managing customers or vendors

  • Demonstrated sense of ‘pride of ownership’ in the office + readiness to provide best customer service to our team + visitors

  • Proven ability to effectively work collaboratively, partnering with several internal + external parties


REQUIREMENTS:



  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Reliable + very well organized; able to prioritize a variety of tasks + responsibilities

  • Willingness to take responsibility for the details of a job, ensuring a great finish to everything we start

  • Warm, positive communicator by phone, email and in person

  • Creativity and a sense of humor – able to put method-style finishing touches on everything we do

  • Resourceful “can-do” attitude and positive outlook a must


EDUCATION:


High School Diploma or equivalent
