Simply Straws is in search of a Inside Sales Representative to join the team in Costa Mesa, CA.

A California crafted, family founded, award winning B Corporation reusable glass drinking straw company, based in Costa Mesa, CA.

We are an alternative to the common plastic straw. We have been hand crafting glass straws since 2012 in beautiful Costa Mesa, CA. Our products are reusable, sustainable, durable, biodegradable and handmade with intention in California. We use non-toxic colored dyes, bpa free materials, fair-trade organic hemp, flax, and cotton straw sleeves, among other earth conscious materials.

As an award winning B Corporation and family founded business, it is our mission to offset the plastic straw epidemic by educating and exciting our communities about the raw effects of plastic straws and how to adversely change the trajectory (mindset) by simply saying NO to plastic and YES to glass. #stopsucking (Adrian Grenier's campaign with his NPO Lonely Whale, whom we have a deep relationship with).

Shipping/Receiving Clerk// 


Summary/Objective Performs administrative tasks to support the Sales & Operations group. Responsible for performing routine clerical duties such as maintaining packing lists, work orders, and other indexed records arranged in a file according to an established system. Retrieves data or correspondence from files as requested within an appropriate time frame. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.


RequirementsMaintain accurate records of items shipped and received.



  • Oversees safe and reliable packaging of all outgoing shipments.

  • Process items for shipment according to established guidelines and procedures.

  • Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

  • Reviews all international shipment documentation to ensure it is compliant to applicable standards.

  • Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers and suppliers.

  • Responsible for effective record keeping, filing and other administrative duties as required.

  • Must follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.

  • Train others when required

Salary: Starting at $12.00 /hour with the opportunity to grow.

POSITION//


         Achieve sales goals as determined by the management team by implementing effective business development, sales, and customer services skills and strategies.·         


Responsible for contacting both existing and prospective accounts, and creating new retail accounts in order to increase sales by conducting outbound sales calls to specified natural, specialty, and grocery retail accounts on a regular basis.


A minimum of 40 outbound sales calls and at least 2 hours of talk/call time is required per work day unless otherwise agreed to by management.


·Responsible for developing solid rapport and strong customer relationships by providing excellent customer service, and conducting maintenance calls to existing accounts and new accounts in order to achieve sales goals and increase overall sales in the retail market.


·Responsible for maintaining and keeping current with product knowledge. Educate customers regularly with product knowledge.


·Responsible for keeping key contacts at retail accounts abreast of new products, promotions and marketing strategies. Responsible for ensuring accounts are MAP most compliant.


·Responsible for maintaining and updating records and account information in Ecometry database and Retail Call Status log. 


· Assist Brand Communications team to create effective ways to sell new products, promote products, and expand distribution of existing products. Helps team to identify potential opportunities by staying current with industry trends, market activities, competitors, and brokers. 


·Participate in and assist in completing sales projects successfully within the allotted time for each project, and as directed.


·Apply company sales plans and strategies as instructed, trained, or directed. 


·Responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting and paperwork, as necessary. 


·Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion.


 Previous experience in the below is highly preferred but not required.
