OVERVIEW The Personal Care Customer Development Manager is responsible for developing Seventh Generation’s personal care channel strategies & customer marketing plans to ensure we win at retail. A pivotal liaison between Unilever personal care customer development teams, field sales and shopper marketing, this role requires significant internal leadership and management of diverse stakeholders. Additionally, this role also provides the opportunity to act as a Brand Marketer, supporting innovation strategy & commercialization/ activation on a project by project basis. This is ideal for a candidate with customer development experience who is looking to gain brand marketing experience, or has had some brand marketing experience in the past. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES Customer Development Category Leadership: Lead development of a set of principles, standards and best practices which will position SVG as the green personal care brand best equipped to help retailers develop profitable growth. Scope includes: channel strategy, in-store promotional strategies, pricing recommendations, display optimization, feature ad/promotional activation. Leverage/fully tap into Unilever best practices in category management to elevate SVG’s knowledge and expertise in personal care (i.e. merchandising guidelines and shelf placement) Customer Strategy & Planning: Support planning with key retailers in partnership with field sales and Unilever personal care customer development teams. Key interface with the customer. Lead sales material deployments at sales/commercial meetings. Collaborate with CCD to develop the annual customer budgets and allocate trade funding. Collaborate with Customer Development and Shopper Marketing to win in-store. In collaboration with Marketing, develop sales presentation decks for new item introductions, brand marketing initiatives, consumer promotion events, customer business and category reviews. Support category review process, ensure accurate forecasting and category/competitive benchmarking for new item introductions. Monitor and track retail performance post launch by customer. Partner with marketing to pivot where needed. Brand Marketing Innovation Strategy & Proposition Development: Able to analyze key business drivers and bring a keen understanding of personal care competitive trends, marketplace dynamics & consumer need gaps that lead to breakthrough, disruptive new product propositions. Supports and/or creates all necessary documents for cross-functional alignment and Leadership Team approval ( i.e. Project Charter’s, Scoping, Product Briefs etc). Collaborates/supports the Director in the development of the financial business case. Commercialization/Activation: Collaborates with Customer Development and Shopper Marketing to win in-store. Support sales tools/participate in customer meetings as needed. Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results, and adjust as necessary to achieve desired business results.
