OVERVIEWSeventh Generation is looking for a passionate innovation leader for our Personal Care business. In this role, you will lead all aspects of new product development, from ideation to commercialization, including launch activation planning and delivery. You will collaborate with consumer insights, sales leadership, customer marketing, R&D and other cross-functional partners. You will drive business results in a way that delivers on our corporate mission and company values. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:Innovation Strategy & Proposition Development: Bringing a keen understanding of the personal care landscape, you will analyze key business drivers, competitive trends, marketplace dynamics & consumer need gaps that lead to breakthrough, disruptive new product propositions. Develop category/brand positioning strategies, portfolio architecture, product level concepts, breakthrough claims, pricing strategy etc. Manage all consumer testing at the concept development stage in partnership with Consumer Insights team. Create all necessary documents for cross-functional alignment and Leadership Team approval (i.e. Project Charter’s, Scoping, and Product Briefs etc.). Present innovation strategy to the Innovation Leadership Team. Support the Director in developing the financial business case. Product Development: Lead all aspects of the new product development process in partnership with the cross-functional development team. Deliver the Product Brief for cross-functional partners. Lead creative packaging design and development in collaboration with packaging & creative teams. Manage all aspects of the artwork development process including design development, copy and translations. Partner with regulatory consultants to ensure compliance for packaging and formulas. Lead breakthrough claims development. Anticipate obstacles, effectively elevate issues and strategize solutions to complex problems that may arise during development to ensure the project is delivered on-time to specifications. Commercialization/Activation Lead the development and execution of activation launch plans across all elements of the marketing mix. Contribute to communications development, including breakthrough claims, brand story-telling, creative/asset development, social/digital activation plans & some media planning. Manage product line P&Ls and associated budgets consistent with product/category/program objectives. Collaborate with Customer Development and Shopper Marketing to win in-store. Support sales tools/participate in customer meetings as needed. Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results, and adjust as necessary to achieve desired business results.
