Job Title:         Interactive Design Intern

Reports to:      Ecommerce Art Director       

Location:         Ventura, CA

General Summary

The Interactive Design Intern will work alongside the rest of the digital creative team on real assignments, get real briefs, and have real deadlines. They will be judged on their ability to generate creative concepts, design solutions, and follow through on assignments. We are looking for talented, passionate, and highly-driven responsible adults who have the skills and the determination to excel in the fast-paced field of digital experience design. The Interactive Design intern is expected to perform at the same level as entry-level junior designers and copywriters. Most importantly, they should be passionate about digital technology and its possibilities.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as support on all digital creative endeavors and initiatives.
  • Tasked with day to day concept and production of banner campaigns, emails, and web design initiatives.
  • Gain an understanding about the Company’s interactive and digital design process.
  • Work with developers, photographers, visual artists, and copywriters to produce enticing digital designs.
  • Communicate with internal clients (those requesting the service of the marketing and e-commerce departments).
  • Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables.
  • Create clean and descriptive production files for developers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit/stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment.
  • Ability to travel utilizing various methods of transportation.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • College degree in progress in a related field.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and in a group.
  • Able to meet deadlines, multi-task, and be organized.
  • Able to arrive at numerous solutions to challenging problems.
  • Must provide a portfolio of samples of digital creative work.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Front-end coding proficiency a plus.

Internship Notes
This is a 12-week paid summer internship at Patagonia. Patagonia will also provide financial support for housing and temporary relocation to the area.
