Job Title:             Distribution Center Operations Analyst – Fixed Term

Location:             Reno, NV

Reports to:         Omni Channel Innovation Manager

General Summary:

Patagonia’s primary distribution center (in Reno, NV) is what connects our best-in-class product with millions of customers across the United States, Canada and the world. The Operations Analyst will play a key role in supporting and optimizing warehouse operations. The focus of this role will be twofold: to create tools and processes with stakeholders from across the business that support capacity planning; and, to support end-to-end optimization efforts in the warehouse to improve capacity and productivity, including inbound/receiving, inventory management, picking, packing and shipping.  We are looking for individuals who can thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate innovative thinking, analyze data and insights, and most of all, think every day about how to meet the needs of our customers. 

Essential Job Functions:    

  • Lead the warehouse demand forecasting process working in collaboration with the Ecommerce, Retail and Wholesale channels
  • Collaborate with Planning, Logistics and the ECDC Manager to align the Reno DC and  ECDC forecasts to balance demand and capacity across the US DC Network
  • Create and manage tools and processes to support the DC capacity planning process, acting as a liaison between the warehouse and the channels to proactively address potential capacity constraints
  • Create and utilize in-depth analytical tools to support issue resolution, decision making, and executive oversight.
  • Build collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics and the ECDC to create, benchmark, and measure warehouse service level KPIs and help teams incorporate metrics into day to day operations
  • Establish baseline and ongoing understanding of warehouse operations and productivity by channel; and support end-to-end optimization effort in the warehouse, including inbound, inventory management, packing and shipping
  • Prepare presentations for senior management.

Operational requirements:

  • Excited to build a deep understanding of warehouse operations and apply that knowledge to creatively improve efficiency across multiple areas of the warehouse
  • Functional experience/ knowledge in warehouse/ fulfillment operations and processes
  • Analytically-driven and able to deal with complexity comfortably; good at learning and deciphering new knowledge
  • Motivated to set objectives and pursue these with energy, drive, and a need to finish

Organizational requirements:

  • Efficient and motivated in communicating with cross-functional teams to discover needs, address concerns, and build consensus
  • Comfortable prioritizing many competing projects to remain focused on execution and delivering results
  • Able to clearly articulate complex ideas to all Patagonia-relevant audiences through presentations, meetings, and other media as needed
  • Capable of using data to drive short term projects, while working toward long term visions

Educational/Experience Preferences:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related field (note; Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management degree preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in Project Management, Consulting, or Business Operations roles
  • Analytics experience in predictive modeling, forecasting, investment planning, or similar
  • Strength in organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with warehouse operations and forecasting

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and (at times noisy) work environment
  • Travel may be required
