In order to serve our ever-expanding global network, Laureate must deliver cutting edge products and services that are not only innovative, but scalable as well. We are seeking an innovation expert who is constantly looking to explore new markets and can identify white spaces both inside and outside our organization to serve as our Director of Innovation. In this role, you will envision, develop and deliver new initiatives that optimize the student, faculty and staff experience. From initial planning through product launch, you will lead cross-functional implementation teams to develop high potential ideas into high performing solutions that drive results.


  • Bring innovative experiences, products and services to life in order to fulfill unmet needs and create new revenue streams

  • Dive deep into the discovery process, subjecting prototypes and proofs of concept to rigorous testing and evaluation

  • Champion new ideas to senior leadership to build a compelling case for investment in breakthrough technology and explorations of new markets

  • Reinforce a spirit of partnership and innovation by working with institutions across the network to cross-pollinate ideas and advancements

  • Balance impacts of innovation with budget, production capacity and risk


  • 8-10 years of relevant work experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering

  • Demonstrated experience managing a diverse innovation portfolio of projects and initiatives that range in potential impact, level-of-effort, scalability and technologies utilized

  • Experience leading and coordinating rapid prototyping efforts

  • Proven ability in assessing emerging business and technology trends to create solutions and new products

  • Familiarity with the higher education industry preferred
