Do you like to collaborate with people to identify problems and implement solutions?  If so, keep reading.  Based in San Francisco and reporting to the CFO, the Global Tax Manager will lead the tax strategy for our global organization. This person will be responsible for the Company’s worldwide tax planning, reporting, audits and compliance. Role requires closely coordinating with our accounting teams in North America, Europe and Asia. This position is very much a liaison working across our organization, with external experts and a seasoned team at parent company.  All of our roles are hands-on, pioneering type roles in developing the Company’s tax strategies and creating the necessary processes and systems to support them.


  • In partnership with the regional accounting teams and service providers, prepare and/or review all local and federal tax returns and estimates ensuring timely payments and compliance

  • Develop and maintain worldwide tax provisions

  • Manage all tax audits, assessments and requests for information

  • Review and monitor transfer-pricing agreements and ensure proper documentation to compliance requirements

  • Manage sales, use and property tax reporting, VAT and other non-income tax issues

  • Stay apprised of existing and proposed tax legislation that could impact our operations

  • Manage and implement tax reporting, compliance and accounting policies

  • Guide finance teams on tax provisions, tax rates for budgeting, and quarterly tax estimates.

  • Support any financial audit requests as it relates to tax

  • Work reception once every other month*


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of overall experience

  • Consumer-facing industry experience a plus

  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred

  • Experience working in an international business environment a major plus

  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting for income taxes

  • Strong analytical, Excel and systems skills are required

  • Track record of managing global service providers to ensure work is completed on time, with quality and on budget

  • Must be willing to be flexible with hours to accommodate conference calls with European and Asian partners

  • Professional and positive communication skills; ability to clearly explain complex concepts to non-accounting people

  • Demonstrated ability to work and lead cross-functionally

  • Stamina, character, sense of humor and work ethic appropriate for a fast-paced, team oriented company

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work effectively as a team member

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
