Description

Warby Parker is searching for a Data Engineer to join our 60-person, on-site engineering team. If you’re looking to join an innovative, super-collaborative technology team and help solve our hardest tech problems (sharing and picking up new skills as you go), then you’ve come to the right place. What you’ll do



  • Working with people across the company to help them with their data needs

  • Craft data models and build pipelines to populate them

  • Build the next generation of data infrastructure at Warby Parker

  • Empower and teach analysts across the organization to use code, BI tools, and SQL to explore our data


Who you are:



  • Backed by with 3 to 6 years of professional programming experience

  • Experienced in schema design and dimensional data modeling

  • Experienced with modern relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.), and proficient in SQL generally

  • Knowledgeable of computer science fundamentals

  • Experienced in Agile development and continuous delivery

  • Equipped with great design taste, even for internal applications

  • Able and eager to learn new domains

  • An all-around excellent, empathetic communicator


Extra credit (not by any means required—it’s the stuff above that really counts):



  • Experience with streaming data platforms (Kafka, Storm, Flink, etc.)

  • Experience working with either a Map Reduce or an MPP system (Spark, Teradata, BigQuery, Redshift, Vertica, etc.)

  • Expertise in Python

  • Experience in e-commerce

  • Familiarity with building and operating production software in the cloud (i.e., AWS, GCP, Azure, or something similar)

  • Comfortability with Linux/Unix
