Amalgamated Bank seeks a seasoned marketing professional adept at driving results in a dynamic environment.  We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, eager to make an impact, and excited to help take the Consumer Bank to the next level.

The role of First Vice President of Marketing and Product Strategy spans across the Amalgamated Bank Consumer Bank to help drive growth and awareness for the different lines of business including but not limited to the National Direct Bank (NDB), Branch Banking, Non-Deposit Investment Products (NDIP) and Residential Mortgage.  This includes developing strategies and marketing initiatives as well as product management.  Day to day, this person will play a critical role in driving the strategic agenda through marketing and product execution for the Consumer Bank for Amalgamated. This individual will also work with executive business leaders and their teams to develop and execute to support business goals.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Partner with Consumer Bank business leads
    • Understand product lines
    • Determine areas of opportunity
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives for growth
  • Lead marketing acquisition and awareness initiatives for national roll out of NDB and Consumer Lending
    • Develop and manage cross-channel marketing strategy to support growth objectives including direct below the line and above the line channels
    • Lead management and marketing execution of campaigns through external agency partners
    • Drive account acquisition via marketing efforts
    • Deliver significant growth across all consumer business lines and channels
  • Management, marketing and oversight of existing products and new product deployment
    • Partner with cross functional teams for deployment
    • Analyze existing product set to determine optimal product mix
  • Metrics and analytics tracking
  • Competitive intelligence (for National Direct Bank)
  • Consumer Bank short, medium and long term strategy support
  • Perform other duties as directed

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; MBA a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, strategy, and product management or a related field
  • Ability to drive marketing results while working on multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with an appetite to focus on customer needs
  • Demonstrated success of partnering and managing agency relationships to drive marketing initiatives
  • Ability to synthesize complex, interdependent, and sometimes competing needs 
  • Close attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation development and delivery 
  • Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with direct reports, peers, managers and other internal or external stakeholders 
  • Flexibility/adaptability (ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus) 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects, deliverables, and deadlines with cross function counterparts, simultaneously and with flexibility.
  • Proactive-approach and problem-solver; able to work with and without direction, part of a team or independently and comfortable with white space
