Acoustic Testing and Simulation Engineer
The acoustic testing and simulation engineer performs NVH testing, simulation and benchmarking activities to support acoustic product development in automotive and other markets as needed. They are responsible for researching, collecting, and analyzing materials that will give Cascade Engineering a competitive advantage in acoustics applications. The acoustics testing and simulation engineer will establish Cascade Engineering as being fluent in predictive modeling techniques, such as SEA.
Maintain a safe working environment for all testing and analysis functions.
Create SEA models and communicate SEA results within Cascade Engineering and our Customers.
Perform material testing as needed, including sound transmission loss, sound absorption, in-vehicle and any other acoustic material tests.
Lead the NVH testing and equipment strategy.
Lead documentation procedures and methods for all NVH testing.
Create and manage our database of NVH materials.
Lead benchmarking activities to identify and analyze materials and products to add to our library database.
Research and develop new materials and suppliers.
Set and lead the strategy for suppliers in the development of materials, products, and samples.
Support teams to develop new markets and products.
Support product engineering and program managers with our acoustic product development.
Good written and verbal communication skills and proven ability to work in a team based environment.
Knowledgeable with SEA software and modeling for NVH and acoustical products at vehicle level within the automotive industry.
Experience with NVH testing of materials and products at the vehicle level.Educational Requirements:
Bachelor of Science Degree in related field or a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an NVH lab.
A minimum of 3 years of experience within the automotive acoustics, with an OEM
Proficient use of MS Office and Manufacturing software
Preferred Candidate will have:
OEM NVH lab testing experience
Experience creating subcomponent SEA models for use in Automotive applications
Knowledge of the advantages and limitations of various test methods for sound transmission loss, sound absorption and other acoustic properties.
Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and all levels of our organization verbally and in written form.
Ability to create instructions and procedures for testing within our acoustic lab
Ability to be a leader
