As a certified B Corporation, we changed the traditional insurance model so that our everyday work can help change behaviors and save lives. We insure community organizations and provide extensive support to help them prevent very serious risks, from child sexual abuse to drowning. We believe that business can and should be a powerful force for positive social change.

Do you want to make a difference in the world? Would you like to join a group of dedicated, professional change-makers who come to work every day to do just that? If so, consider applying to our 2018 Summer Fellowship Program.

Senior Fellow Opportunity:

Senior Fellow Qualifications:

We’re looking for change makers who have demonstrated their ability to make a difference in the world.  We want interns who lead collaboratively and with purpose, are strong communicators, think both morally and strategically, embrace and make sense of complexity and are deeply passionate about our work. Senior Fellows should be currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a graduate-level program.

In several business areas, Senior Fellows will help us scale our work through projects such as:

  • Providing direct consulting support and/or researching and developing new tools and resources to strengthen our consulting offering to our non-profit and child-serving customers

  • Conducting market research into potential market segments and developing sales or marketing plans for scaling our business

  • Using internal data and external data to identify trends that increase our customers’ exposure to safety, health and environmental concerns or helping us track and evaluate the impact of our efforts

  • Supporting the growth and development of The Redwoods Foundation

Senior Fellows will also have the opportunity to gain management experience by supervising, in coordination with a staff mentor, an undergraduate Junior Fellow.

Junior Fellow Opportunity:

Junior Fellow Qualifications:

We’re looking for change makers who have demonstrated their ability to make a difference in the world.  We want interns who lead collaboratively and with purpose, are strong communicators, think both morally and strategically, embrace and make sense of complexity and are deeply passionate about our work.  Open to current undergraduate juniors and seniors; recent undergraduate graduates will also be considered.

In several business areas, Junior Fellows will work with Senior Fellows and other stakeholders in order to help us scale our work. We have several teams that are looking for mission-aligned individuals that have a hunger for learning in the following areas:

  • Claims

  • Consulting

  • Underwriting

  • Business Development

  • Marketing

  • HR

  • Data Analysis and Management

Why become a Redwoods Fellow?

  • Ability to make real contributions to the business, working with a high degree of autonomy, while building the skills and network needed to succeed in a social enterprise

  • Refine skills and gain new ones: public speaking, business development, project management, customer service and engagement, leadership, communication, creative thinking, problem solving, negotiation, and collaboration

  • Join our Fellowship alumni group that includes several full-time Redwoods staff members as well as other change makers in our community and beyond

Both the Senior and Junior Fellowship are paid and based out of The Redwoods Group’s office in Morrisville, NC. Fellows must be available to participate in the mandatory trainings from May 29 to June 1.
