Bridges Fund Management is looking for a talented and driven individual to join our practitioner-led advisory practice, Bridges Impact+, in January 2018 for a 6 to 9 month internship. Bridges Impact+ leads on impact strategy and methodology across Bridges’ funds and takes on external projects to contribute shareable practitioner learnings with the field and advise leading organisations on their impact management practices. This is a full- or part-time, paid position that could be based in New York, Boston, or London. 

Role Description: 

The specific opportunity is to help with a range of work related to the Impact Management Project, an initiative facilitated by Bridges Impact+ to develop and adopt a shared convention for describing and managing impact. 

Responsilbities will include research of existing impact diligence and reporting methodologies, conversion of content into training materials, interviews of asset owners and fund managers, and assisting the preparation of presentations and reports based on work with a number of leading partners from the fields of responsible, sustanainable and impact investing. 

This is an ideal opportunity for someone transitioning from consulting or asset management who is interested in gaining hands-on experience as an integrated member of a small team – and global movement – that is transforming how we talk about, measure and manage impact. 


  • Undergraduate degree in business, economics, policy or related fields 

  • Exceptional research and analytical experience; completion of a senior thesis a plus 

  • 1-3 years of prior experience, preferably in management consulting, investment management, non-profit management, higher education or other related fields; prior work experience in impact investing a plus 


Personal attributes and abilities: 

  • Ability to multi-task on competing projects and to work independently and demonstrate ownership over work so that deadlines are met in an efficient and timely manner 

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a flexible attitude in a team environment is a must 

  • • Demonstrated commitment to social or environmental impact 

  • Familiarity with private investment processes preferred 

  • Ability to pick up on the core issues of complex concepts quickly, and to distill large quantites of information into clear presentation materials 

  • • Strong communication skills across the board, especially written 

  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; social media and document publishing (Adobe, InDesign) a plus 

  • • A desire to learn and to stretch intellectual experience
