Product Marketing Manager, Pilot Programs



As the Product Marketing Manager for pilot programs at Techstars, you will be responsible for defining,  building, testing, executing and launching new Techstars services.  In this role, you will need to work closely with internal business stakeholders including product marketing, engineering, Managing Directors, and other various stakeholders to ensure we build new  services targeted at corporate partners that help drive incremental value for Techstars and our partners.

 

The Product Marketing Manager will report to the Director of Product Marketing and will drive pilot program strategy including alignment of new services with the Techstars mission as well as messaging, positioning, packaging, training, and launching pilot products when ready.

 

We are looking for a person who is an excellent problem solver and communicator, is highly engaged, can develop and also execute against a project plan, and is able to build and manage strategic relationships with corporate partners.  Experience with product development methodologies and innovation strategies is plus.

 

Duties and Responsibilities


 



  • Own and manage the pilot phase of new product development for all new Techstars programs including building, documenting, testing and iterating throughout the pilot phase.

  • Hire and manage resources to drive the successful execution of all new pilot programs.

  • Frequent travel to customer location for any new programs to help with program goal identification, relationship building, and execution of pilot program.

  • Own and manage customer relationships throughout pilot phase and gather feedback for product refinement.

  • Create and own product specifications, charters and phase gates for new product development.

  • Develop new product materials and processes including product playbooks, operational materials, and marketing collateral to help scale future programs. Work with marketing team to ensure all materials are aligned with company messaging.

  • Assist with market launch planning and company readiness for new program offerings including cross-functional launch plan coordination, content creation efforts, market launch timing, and external communication planning.

  • Bringing insights from the execution and customer experience back into the product development process

  • Assist with training of Techstars sales and marketing teams on how to effectively position and sell new and existing programs including program value propositions, proof points, and lessons learned from pilot phase.

  • Be the voice of the customer and the market. Develop strategies for gathering and communicating customer and market data to help steer Techstars programs and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications:


 



  • 6+ years product development, product management, product marketing experience -  high-tech environment preferred

  • Knowledge of early product development and innovation concepts

  • Strong project management, leadership and customer satisfaction experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing (advanced degree a plus)

  • Strong interest in the discourse around technology, startups, entrepreneurship, and venture capital

  • Extremely driven and self-motivated, comfortable with autonomy and driving initiatives

  • People-oriented, adaptable, and creative

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and projects

  • Ability to operate in a strategic capacity with limited supervision

  • Excellent people, management and organizational skills to interact with customers as well as staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams

  • Must be flexible and able to manage multiple projects and personalities at all times

  • Frequent domestic and international travel will be required
