Now we’re looking for a new team member who can bring energy and purpose to our growing company.

Showroom Manager

As our new Showroom Manager, you’ll become an important member of our team that’s dedicated to supporting our outside sales staff in the A/D community within the Illinois market. Working closely with our Sales Assistant, you’ll make sure that they have everything they need to close sales and create positive experiences in our showroom.

Most of the time this will involve pulling sample requests and preparing and customizing presentation and marketing materials. In addition, you’ll also be charged with managing our sample and marketing collateral inventory in the showroom, handling and interpreting client and purchaser questions pertaining to product, stock, lead-times, order status, etc.

When you’re not assisting our sales team, you’ll be doing some sales yourself in our showroom. While we usually only have a few visitors in house every day, you’ll be responsible for making them feel welcome, letting them know about all the amazing solutions and services we have to offer and bridging the relationship to one of the two outside sales representatives.

We hold several events per year in the Chicago Showroom, including Neocon which entails several months of planning and coordination between various departments including Marketing, Sales and Design. You will be responsible for handling the logistics, opening and closing of the showroom, coordination of events during the show, catering, etc. You will also lead the planning and hosting of various other smaller events throughout the year which are initiated by the Chicago team.

While stellar email communication skills are vital, you’ll also be working on the phone, updating information in Salesforce, coordinating with our sales service team at Carnegie HQ in New York, checking up on incoming and placed orders, and answering customer inquiries. You will also be in charge of hiring interns as needed. This is a fast-paced job so a sense of urgency, and organization is critical at all times.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll thrive in this role if you’re:

  • Self-motivated – you don’t need someone looking over your shoulder telling you what’s next. You have a good idea of what needs to be done first, and what the next big thing is.

  • Proactive– you anticipate and understand what our sales team needs, and can find opportunities to make the sales process smoother. Samples, presentations, marketing: it doesn’t matter what the task is because you’re always on the ball.

  • A great communicator –whether it’s customers or coworkers, you can always get your point across and make a good impression.

Working With Us

Hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00, working out of our office in Chicago, with an occasional extra day or evening when needed. In addition to your salary, we offer a great benefits package including medical, dental, optical and 401K. After your first year, we also offer $500 annually for you to enroll in any class you like.
