The Technical Project Manager is a key member of the Enterprise Reporting and Data Warehousing team and is responsible for managing IT project delivery. This position is accountable for the effective tracking of tasks and deliverables and the facilitation of project meetings while proactively controlling project scope, risks and issues. This position is expected to provide timely status reports to all stakeholders and escalate issues to appropriate levels of management. The Project Manager communicates with customers, relationship managers and implementation teams, assesses project scope and manages projects from inception through completion. The Project Manager reports to the Director, BI Delivery.

The Project Manager will evolve with the Enterprise Reporting and Data Warehousing team’s transformation to an Agile process.


Responsibilities include:

  • Track and report on delivery of BI projects

  • Interfaces with BI and business teams and is responsible for relationship management

  • Provides focus and consistency to ongoing BI governed projects. Ensures BI projects follow established Laureate template standards. Monitors delivery timeline, that projects meet strategic and business requirements, and are well communicated.

  • Works closely with program project managers on BI project initiatives.

  • Escalates critical issues for appropriate/timely resolution. Coordinates and reports on project progress and accomplishments.

  • Interprets and maintains basic financial management schedules including budgets, forecasts and other related financial information.

  • Uses best practices, techniques, and tools for project planning, execution, project management, milestone/deliverable tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.

  • Effectively communicates and manages project expectations to project managers, owners, sponsors, team members, and other stakeholders

  • Develops strong working relationships with members of Laureate institutions involved in IT projects.

  • Ability to adapt and function effectively in different cultures and environments.


We are looking for driven self-starters who enjoy and are able to collaborate across all levels and teams within an organization. Effective written and oral communication is a must. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite required.

  • PMP Certification

  • BA or BS degree in Engineering or Business Operations; MBA a plus

  • A minimum of 4 years progressive information technology experience in project implementation and PMO organizations in a collaborative IT service-focused environment.

  • A solid background of experience and an impressive record of innovation and attainment of goals in complex organizations or matrixed organizations.

  • Strong change management and leadership skills

  • Experience in directing and managing within a dynamic and challenging environment

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Conversant in Portuguese a plus
