Job Description
About the Role and what you can expect
The Casual Breakfast Chef position is responsible for planning and preparing food for hotel guests and operation needs, whilst upholding a hands on training environment for our students.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure implemented policies and procedures related to the food and beverage department are followed

  • Plan and prepare menus in consultation with other kitchen staff

  • Attend Food and Beverage and other required meetings

  • Undertake other duties as required by the Executive Chef

  • Assume responsibility for kitchen operations, staff at weekends or other times when no other kitchen staff member is present

  • Ensure guests are provided with meals as required by the program to the standards set

  • Follow budgetary guidelines relevant to operation needs

  • Proactively work with the food and beverage management in any staff development programme

  • Maintain Occupational Health and Safety and HACCP legislative requirements in the kitchen area

  • Assist in the maintenance of all records that demonstrate compliance with legislation such as WH&S, HACCP and First Aid.

  • Ensure the health and safety of staff and students working under direct supervision

  • Operate within legislation and meet all government requirements with regard to appropriate accreditations and registrations
