Job Description

About the Role and what you can expect

You will build strong relationships which allow you to act as a high quality business partner to the General Manager (Vertical) and Department Manager. You will provide ongoing reporting and performance tracking to ensure the GM is well briefed and accountable for their results. You will present analytical information and insights into trends that contribute to an improvement in business performance, inform strategies and identify risks and improvement opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Ensure reporting of results to the business and key stakeholders are accurate, timely and relevant.

  • Prepare monthly business commentary on financial performance against forecast and prior year drawing insights from key functional managers.

  • Provide detailed analysis on performance against key metrics with recommended remedial action, identifying opportunities for improving revenue and profitability

  • Prepare business presentations and summaries including Quarterly Business Review’s and Long Range Planning

  • Develop and execute thorough analysis of various projects and business initiatives as required to support the business in making the best commercial decisions.

  • Prepare financial business case for Capital Investment Plans

  • Develop strong working relationships with the (Vertical) business and local / regional FP&A teams.

  • Support ongoing improvements in all aspects of FP&A to increase accuracy, meaningfulness and reduce timeframes.

  • Provide key assumptions in the preparation of monthly forecasts, quarterly business reviews, annual budgets and long range plans

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with a strong track record in partnering with the operational arm of a complex business. Furthermore, you will be able to show a holistic understanding of a business and how you've been able to use your expertise to ensure that strategic goals are met.

You will have:

  • Degree in Finance, Business or Commerce (accounting required).

  • Qualified CA/CPA/CIMA with 3-5 years post qualified experience.

  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.

  • Project Management, an ability to plan and implement projects.

  • Time Management, an ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of data. The ability to draw conclusions, extract meaning and provide business insights.

  • Ability to interpret and draw conclusions from many data sets.

  • Strong inter-personal skills to develop effective relationships across layers of the organisation.

  • Strong communication and presentations skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • People management skills with the ability influence people to drive results.

  • A commitment to team work in order to maintain a supportive and collaborative work environment.
