GENERAL SUMMARY:


The Student Funding Services Manager will be responsible for identifying, launching and managing a suite of financial products and services that help international students fund and pay for their academic programs. The individual will work with external entities and internal cross-functional teams to offer a range of financial products/ services to promote affordable education. These financial products/ services may include, but are not limited to: scholarships, government loan programs, loan offers through affiliated and/or non-affiliated financial institutions, corporate sponsorships, etc. Solutions may be country specific, regional or global.

The position involves working in a team environment and ensuring that a quality student experience is maintained to support students’ in continuing their educational journey.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manage and administer current student financing solutions and ensure their effectiveness; this includes but is not limited to maintaining good working relationships with external stakeholder ( e.g. loan agencies, campus funding teams and corporate sponsors) managing ongoing funding agencies’ compliance requirements and supervising proper administration of loans by internal teams;


  • Evaluate necessary operational improvements and track and report regularly to higher management on available funding options and utilizing student numbers per scheme.


  • Responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and promoting financial products to drive enrollment and progression for international students. Stay abreast of external developments and translate what they mean internally for Laureate;


  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders in the proper operationalization of new financing schemes, and deliver product training to relevant departments such as student support and enrolment;


  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure all financial services are positioned and communicated to both existing students and prospective students, and that their features and benefits are well understood;


  • Work with marketing teams to create effective product communications and relevant marketing collateral;


  • Identify financial solutions to increase options for our students (partner with external partners, leverage existing resource within LIU networks or build service capability in-house);


  • Lead the effort to launch and manage the ongoing performance of these services;


  • Participate in projects, systems testing, pilots and other initiatives as requested.




EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline; Masters preferred;

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in financial services, payment processing preferred;

  • Experience working in a service-oriented environment or educational setting (preferred);

  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural and international environment (preferred);

  • Financial background (preferred).

  • Time Management: ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities with competing timelines;

  • Ability to influence peers to get to results using strong relationship building skills;

  • Strong communication & presentation skills; ability to clearly communicate to internal teams and present to senior management.
