CKT - S/R: Shipping and Receiving Technician job in Brownsville
Understands and complies with company policies and procedures including TS/ISO requirements and QAD.
Follows plant schedules and dock appointments by working with the Materials Department and Operations.
Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measures items of information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Perform scan and match of all outgoing shipments and is responsible for 100% accuracy and proper loading.
Advises and is familiar with the standard method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Prepare shipping labels /master labels/kanban cards etc. as required per customer.
Verifies and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
Deliver Items to the proper departments and put them in the designated areas.
Verifies all outgoing shipments are accurate and meet specifications.
Performs inventory/cycle counts as required.
Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area in a safe manner.
May also direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
Trains others in the logistics systems.
Follows priorities in order to complete customer requirements.
Enforces all applicable regulatory requirements.
Supports all recycling efforts as required.
Supports all Lean initiatives as required.
Maintains a clean/organized/safe work area.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or a passing score of 70% or better on the CKT Operator Assessment.
Two years experience in S&R preferred.
Proficient use of personal computers and computer operation within a network environment.
Knowledge of DOT regulations.
Valid Hi-Lo license.
Understands KanBan and 5S programs.
Language Skills Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and system documentation.
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of associates.
Mathematical Skills Requirements:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply concepts of Algebra.
Reasoning Ability Requirements:
Ability to apply logic to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
High degree of analytical ability.
Ability to work at heights of 15-40 ft.
