Role Summary: 

The Buursma Plant at Cascade Engineering produces carts for the solid waste and recycling industry for private/public haulers and cities/municipalities throughout the United States and Canada. We also produce bulk shipping and storage containers for industrial, agricultural and food processing applications worldwide. Using established procedures the die setter will perform assigned tasks including mold changes, color changes, moisture checks, material changes, general housekeeping, and all tasks in a safe efficient manner. The die setter will apply fundamental concepts of injection molding while performing all task in the most safe and efficient manner.  Additionally, this position will support the production team as needed as well as set up, trouble shoot and monitor secondary equipment, primarily hot stamp equipment.


General Responsibilities: 

Pulls and sets molds, set up robots and associated end of arm tooling
Identify and correct safety hazards at press and work cells
Perform basic troubleshooting on secondary equipment and preventative maintenance
Set up and troubleshoot hot stamp equipment to ensure quality product
Supports all areas of production as needed
Accurately and consistently updates all appropriate areas of technical documentation
Identifies and requests assistance in the areas of maintenance and tooling as needed
Participates in technical meetings as required
Flexible scheduling to meet customer's needs/production needs
Promotes Lean initiatives
Works closely with Front Line Leaders (Production Supervisors) and Technician
Participates in root cause problem solving activities in process and production areas
Completes minor tool repair
Communicate with oncoming and outgoing shifts
Ability to use multiple databases and follow standard work
Follows all safety policies
Ability to efficiently perform material/color change if needed

Minimum Education, Experience and Core Competency Requirements: 

1 year of mold setting experience
High school diploma/GED 
Ability to work with minimal supervision experience
Experience using Microsoft Office
Injection molding experience
LOTO certified
Material handling experience
Crane & Chain training

Preferred Education, Experience and Core Competency Requirements: 

Hilo License
Plastic Processing Troubleshooting Experience
