2018 Sales and Marketing Summer Intern Job Description

Sales and Marketing Intern (SAMI):

The SAMI helps Mamava grow our community, brand awareness, and overall business. The SAMI will support the marketing team, assist with public relations, and help update our mobile app along with other end users and customer facing marketing projects. The SAMI will work with the sales team to research legislation and regulations relevant to lactation and make connections between Mamava and key advocates where necessary. The SAMI will complete prospecting research in key verticals for our Account Executives in order to help generate pod sales. The intern may also be invited to work on special projects or events, depending on interest and availability.


SAMI responsibilities include:

  • Own and optimize the Mamava brand ambassador program on Facebook and Instagram

  • Provide support for PR and build local media lists for new pod placements

  • The opportunity to be the main point of PR contact for new locations placements

  • Archive relevant social media posts and reviews for Account Executive purposes

  • Monitor schedules of select venues to post/share information on events taking place to promote awareness of Mamava

  • Vet and input new locations into our Mamava mobile application

  • Monitor federal and state legislatures for lactation regulations

  • Work on relevant projects as needed



  • Current college undergraduate or recent graduate

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) & Apple Suite (Pages & Keynote)

  • Facility with digital tools and social media platforms

  • High level of comfort working with customers

  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a desire to learn

  • Strong writing skills

  • A love of technology and ideas for improving business processes

  • Hustle: You have no problem doing the gritty work that comes along with the higher-level thinking in a startup environment

  • High Emotional IQ: you can  interface with our customers and mamas with stellar communication skills

  • Flexible attitude: you are sharp and eager to play the different roles necessary to help us succeed

  • High degree of discipline, maturity, professionalism and integrity

  • Authorization to work in the United States

  • Experience in digital marketing and sales preferred
