Essential Duties and Responsibilities


The General Ledger Accounting Coordinator is responsible for support of accounting functions and processes, particularly related to the review and analysis of specific balance sheet accounts and accounting processes, and the development and posting of journal entries and adjustments to the General Ledger related to those accounts.


This role is responsible for performing cash management and cash planning, in conjunction with the Accounting Manager and the CFO.  Responsible for maintaining forward-looking cash projections in a spreadsheet-based environment.


The General Ledger role reviews and maintains fixed assets, prepaid assets, cash and deferred revenues and the monthly postings of journal entries to depreciate, amortize, defer or expense items from these accounts.


The General Ledger Accounting Coordinator has an extensive role in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.  This responsibility includes performing reconciliation of assigned accounts on a periodic schedule.


The General Ledger Accounting Coordinator may also be assigned routine responsibilities dealing with other accounting duties, particularly related to Accounts Payable, including responsibilities reconciling non-balance sheet accounts.  This role may also perform back-up roles with respect to other functions, including Accounts Payable, payroll, inventory accounting or Revenue Accounting.


This position works closely with, and is also responsible for other duties as assigned by, the Accounting Manager and CFO.



Skills and Qualifications 


Required Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience performing routine accounting for a dynamic and growing company

  • Strong experience in working in a detail-oriented environment such as accounting, finance, or other environment involving management of numbers or data

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance, prioritize and manage multiple tasks of differing priorities and deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Very high levels of personal integrity and experience in managing and protecting confidential data and information

  • Strong understanding of accounting processes with a conversant and functional understanding of accounting

  • Keen eye for detail and strong accuracy in working with numbers

  • Very strong computer skills and experience in working with complex accounting programs and systems


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in accounting, accounts payable and other related activities.  Experience in full-charge bookkeeping preferred

  • Functional knowledge of US GAAP

  • Associates Degree in Accounting or higher

  • Experience working with NetSuite in an integrated business environment

Reports to: This position reports to the Accounting Manager, and works closely with the CFO, CEO, President and COO.
