This position joins a team that supports our commitment to maintain a 98.5% fill rate with our customers for their wholesale dry grocery needs.  Take a leadership role in directing team members to maintain PO integrity to insure an adequate supply of inventory at each warehouse.  Responsible for Capacity Planning to insure KAF Demand does not exceed vendor demonstrated capacity.  Responsibilities include developing and maintaining MRP calculations and system parameters to meet the inventory goals.  Perform a quarterly analysis of DC splits to maintain MRP integrity.  Analyze, create, monitor and load Demand Plan data into MRP as needed.  Firm Planned Orders and transmit to production facilities.  You will record contracts and pricing agreements and maintain a high level of accuracy in all our inventory transaction records.



  • Educate/train/direct team members as necessary to insure proper execution of supply chain planning strategy
  • Analyze vendor committed and advertised capacity versus demonstrated actual capacity to highlight potential shortfalls that would compromise customer service and fill rate goals
  • Ensure timely communication of any capacity risks or opportunities
  • Participate in new product launches and develop action plan initiatives to ensure product availability aligns with project milestones
  • Analyze MRP to place PO’s in accordance with specific vendor lead times for up to 7 3PL warehouses
  • Make recommendations to continuously optimize MRP
  • Responsible for annual wholesale spend in excess of $35,000,000 per year to meet sales forecast and inventory goals
  • Manage wholesale spend in accordance with working capital demands
  • Research best practices to develop, maintain and utilize current MRP system in Microsoft AX
  • Analyze warehouse inventories and manage transfers between 3PL warehouses to optimize inventory
  • Continuously analyze and manage inventory and make plan adjustments and transfers to minimize obsolete inventory throughout the network
  • Maintain inventory targets using MRP for production plan creation, firm purchase orders and transmit to production facilities internal and external
  • Generate and analyze inventory movement records to maintain DC splits in MRP on a quarterly basis and ad hoc needed for new distribution
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with all inventory transaction records
  • Insure all new items are loaded into MRP according to planned launch and production schedules
  • Maintains sufficient packaging inventory for KAF owned packaging
  • Research opportunities to utilize BOMs in ERP for packaging requirements with the goal of improving efficiencies and accuracy in packaging planning
  • Supplies projections to vendors as requested for vendor owned packaging
  • Communicates with graphics and our printers to incorporate changes as needed.
  • Provides detailed verbal and written input on performance of all vendors
  • Updates and maintains the accuracy of our inventory tools and user instructions to maintain accuracy
  • Accurately records contracts and vendor pricing agreements; communicating standard costing changes as needed
  • Timely documentation of product quality issues in ICIX, our food safety database
  • Performs lot code tracing efficiently and accurately
  • Shares knowledge and experience with team members.  Suggests improvements to enhance the performance of the team, division, and company.

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of MRP experience
  • Experience in inventory management in conjunction with 3PL providers
  • Experience maintaining strong relationships with vendors
  • Experience interpreting demand forecast data as input to MRP
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel and ability to design and develop reports
  • Desire and ability to grow in skills and contribution to the team



  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for a minimum of eight hours daily
  • Ability to work in an open office environment which can be noisy at times
