We're Hop, a craft compost company.
We’re seeking a full-time employee to start immediately as Operations Lead in
our Vancouver facility.
As Operations Lead, you will manage Hop’s Vancouver team and all aspects of
our daily process, from our waste collection route to our organic compost
8am-5pm, Monday through Friday

Hop Vancouver is an existing compost facility that processes 2,000 tonnes of
compostable waste each year. The team is actively growing from 5 to 8
members, as we scale Hop’s local waste collection service. Hop Vancouver leads
all Hop facilities in the quality of its service and product, and this must be
maintained through our upcoming growth phase. The Operations Lead will be
• Team management and scheduling;
• Active quality responses in our waste collection service and our organic
• Repair and maintenance troubleshooting on production equipment;
• Procurement, negotiation, and contractor management;
• Data recording and regulatory reporting;
• Contributing to daily labour tasks;
• And process efficiency or safety improvements.
The Operations Lead typically invests equal time between hands-on involvement
on the floor and management at a desk. Because Hop is a startup, the role is
intensive, with uncertainty, speed, and change. Hours may fluctuate, and the
Operations Lead must be able to contribute overtime in early mornings, nights,
and weekends when necessary.
