The Role

The Honest Company has kicked off the search for a Transportation & Logistics Manager! We’re looking for a supply chain leader who will build and effectively manage multi-channel inbound and outbound transportation. The Transportation function includes outbound small parcel transportation, outbound LTL transportation, and inbound transportation from contract manufacturers.

What you’ll do:

  • Set multi-channel inbound and outbound transportation strategy based on service level required, cost targets, growth plans, sales strategy, and distribution strategy

  • Measure and improve cost and performance of all transportation providers and periodically evaluate Honest’s transportation needs

  • Manage relationships and negotiate pricing with current small parcel carriers and transportation brokers

  • Explore, analyze, and implement offerings of additional service providers to optimize service and cost

  • Own transportation of inbound and act as the single point of contact with carriers and transportation providers (coordinating pickups, tracking shipments, tracking delivery timing, etc)

  • Update weekly and monthly planning models to support efficient purchase and allocation of inventory

  • Develop and maintain a scorecard to present key KPI’s (including carrier/supplier performance) to the internal and external stakeholders

  • Implement scheduling and tracking services provided by transportation brokers to reduce the amount of manual work required by internal team

  • Implement auditing service to ensure that transportation service levels are being met and invoices are accurate

  • Ensure that transportation providers comply with required quality and compliance standards

  • Collaborate with Customer Service to understand customer feedback on shipping and implement improvement initiatives accordingly

  • Work cross-functionally with our fulfillment, procurement, legal, technology, accounting and finance teams to ensure all projects meet approval and are vetted appropriately

  • Stay current on industry trends on transportation and communicate potential financial and operational impact

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7+ years experience in transportation and logistics

  • 3+ years experience in people management

  • Experience with contract and rate negotiations

  • Transportation management system experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Bonus points for:

  • Consumer packaged goods industry experience
