Job brief
Corporate Knights, the magazine for clean capitalism, is looking for an Editor-in-Chief. They will be tasked with overseeing all editorial aspects of the quarterly magazine.
Responsibilities
- Working with Contributing Editors and Publisher to draft medium-term editorial focus and strategy
- Coordinating with publisher and research team to draft yearly plans for rankings and reports that will be featured in the magazine
- Assigning stories, editing and overseeing fact-checking process with Copy Editor
- Fostering diverse roster of freelance writers
- Working with Art Director to shape layout and other aesthetic choices in the magazine
- Writing articles/conducting interviews for the publication
- Ensuring all editorial magazine functions follow strict ethical and legal parametres
- Acting as a public face for the organization, including appearances at conferences and other media platforms
Requirements
- Exceptional communication skills (writing and proofreading)
- Excellent leadership qualities
- Proven ability to abide by strict deadlines
- Demonstrated familiarity with sustainability, environmental (climate) and social equity/human rights issues and their broad implication on businesses, national economies and society. The ability to stay updated on all the latest sustainability news is vital to success in this position.

- Ability to tolerate stress and work efficiently even under pressure
We are accepting candidates from across Canada.
Hours per week flexible with the bulk of work occurring one month leading up to each magazine release (4 times per year).
