Job brief
Corporate Knights, the magazine for clean capitalism, is looking for an Assistant Editor (Digital) to run online and social media operations at the publication. They will be tasked with developing and implementing a new online and social media strategy to expand the reach of the publication, as well as assisting with the production of the quarterly publication, reporting to the Publisher.
Responsibilities
- Managing all content on the Corporate Knights website, including the addition of an ongoing series that leverages Corporate Knights research department to produce data-driven stories on which companies are leading and lagging on a range of social and environmental issues.
- Managing all social media platforms
- Researching, compiling and distributing the weekly e-newsletter
- Supporting the Editor-in-Chief on a specified section of magazine
- Coordinating with the Corporate Knights research team to ensure rankings and reports are presented online and in the magazine with the greatest level of impact possible
- Updating and maintaining key internal documents
- Monitoring performance metrics across all publishing platforms
- Coordinating with the Publisher, Associate Publisher and other members of the advertising team in regards to online advertisements
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills (writing and proofreading)
- Strong familiarity and proven track record with SEO, Wordpress and various social media platforms
- Creative; Willing to experiment, take initiative and try new things
- Strong team work and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to abide by strict deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Ability to tolerate stress and work efficiently even under pressure
- Experience producing/editing video and podcasts an asset
Preferred candidates will have a strong interest in sustainability, environmental (climate) and social equity/human rights issues and will understand their broad implication on businesses, national economies and society.
This is a full-time, permanent position located in downtown Toronto.
