We are the UK’s leading movement building agency. We combine consultancy, innovation, events, research and training to create eco-systems for change, support organisations to create change and create impact across the UK and beyond.

Over the past 5 years, we have been helping organisations to achieve incredible social impact through their stakeholders, networks and communities. We have worked with great clients including, DifD, Marks and Spencers, The Cabinet Office, Power to Change and more. We have co-created incredible annual events such as HouseParty and Losing Control, and we have brought innovative products to market such as The Crowdfunding Academy and Lost Voices.

We are a busy small team with big ambitions and we are looking for a Senior Programme Officer to deliver an innovative community cohesion programme in North London and support high quality delivery for a wide range of clients to build out their movements for change.

We love our work life balance so we are happy to consider 4 day week on a pro rata basis.

To outline the role in a bit more detail, there are certain specific areas in which we are seeking support from the new Senior Programme Officer, as follows:

Responsibilities

Community outreach & management (30%)

  • Take the lead on a programme of community cohesion in an area of North London with the aim of bringing residents and other community members of different backgrounds together around a range of activities defined by the local community.
  • Identify 200-300 potential participants during this phase of the programme.
  • Support a small number of local leaders to produce opportunities and/or activities that will bring people together

Social enterprise outreach programme (20%)

  • Work closely with our CEO, develop a programme to select social entrepreneurs interesting in incubating their ideas in the local areas around London
  • Strategically link the community cohesion and social innovation programme.

Exceptional delivery and service to our clients (40%)

  • Work with the team on delivery of client projects and SCA original work
  • Delivery can span from delivering dynamic events, assisting organisations on strategy, delivering training, and facilitating workshops to help clients tap into their creativity to deliver social change

Supporting the SCA Team for success (10%)

  • Participate in team meetings and internal processes that maintain an efficient and collegiate environment for the whole team

In carrying out these duties the post holder will:

Desirable experience & Person Specification

  • At least three years experience in community development, community organising, and/or campaigning
  • Experience of working with clients or funding bodies and ensuring that delivery is meeting their expectations and to high quality
  • Experience with a wide range of communication channels, including social media
  • Basic understanding of the social innovation sector
  • Lead by knowing self and seeing leadership in others
  • Self-aware, reflective and curious

Salary: £30,000

Contract: 1 year fixed-term

Location: Kings Cross London. You will be spending a significant amount of time out in the wider North London area.

Holiday: While we don’t count hours, or days, preferring to get the work done when necessary, 25 days all plus bank holidays is what we work to and any salary will be pro rata.
